At Children’s Scholarship Fund, we believe a quality education puts children on the path to success in life. We expand educational opportunity by providing scholarships to families in need so they can choose the schools and learning environments that are the best fit for their children, regardless of their ability to pay or where they live. We also support scholarship programs and policy reform efforts nationwide that help all children get the education they deserve.
Improving education on a national scale has been our objective since our founding in 1998. We work to achieve this goal by offering financial, capacity-building, and management and operations support to scholarship organizations nationwide. We invest where our money and effort will have the most significant long-term impact and work hand-in-hand with the staff and boards of the programs we support. We also run the CSF New York program out of our New York headquarters. To see where we work in partnership with local programs, click here.
Due to high demand, it is not possible for us to offer a scholarship to every child whose family applies. So while we strive to help as many families as possible through our network of scholarship organizations, we are committed to increasing equal access and strengthening K-8 education through state and local policy initiatives. For example, CSF partner programs in Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Utah, and Washington, D.C. have scaled to serve many more students through state tax credit, voucher, and education savings account programs.
CSF scholarships change lives: they provide students with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and reach their full potential. Since our founding, CSF has provided scholarships worth more than $1.15 billion dollars to 217,434 deserving children and their families. Until all children have the opportunity to attend a school that meets their needs, we will continue to empower families to choose a private school through our scholarship programs.
