UPDATE: Due to the rapidly developing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, the NYC Half, scheduled for Sunday, March 15, was cancelled on March 10. We look forward to Team CSF’s participation in next year’s race and are grateful to our dedicated runners and all who have supported them in this endeavor.
For the sixth year in a row, four members of the Children’s Scholarship Fund (CSF) Young Leaders Board are running in the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon on Sunday, March 15th to raise at least $8,000 – enough to fund four New York City scholarships.
Each of the four has a very special reason for running, and we hope that you will read their stories below and support them today!
Nicole Serrato, a former CSF scholarship recipient, soon to be college grad, and aspiring filmmaker, knows first-hand that CSF scholarships change lives. Now she wants to help make a difference and give back! Read More.
Conor Cunnane joined the CSF Young Leaders Board three years ago, after coming to an event where he was “immediately drawn to how passionate the YLs are about CSF’s mission to create equal education opportunities for disadvantaged children.” Help him create more opportunities for New York City children.CBD
Jackie Palma chairs the CSF Young Leaders Board and this is her fifth time running on Team CSF, raising more than $8,000 for scholarships. Your gift will help her fund yet another scholarship in New York City.
Josué De Paz was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship to high school in California which allowed him to get a great education. He says, “It’s one of the reasons that I’m where I am today. Because of the generosity of others, my life changed.” While he says he is not a runner and claims the couch is his best friend, he also told us, “Knowing this could benefit a child in need pushed me to be brave and sign up.” His ask is simple: $1 for every mile he runs in this 13+ mile race!
