School Choice Week 2025: What a Week for Education Freedom!

CSF families had the pleasure of meeting New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte while touring the New Hampshire State House during a very busy School Choice Week.

This year’s National School Choice Week was one of the most eventful yet for education freedom!

Executive order and White House roundtable: President Trump issued an executive order prioritizing educational freedom and opportunity, and calling on various government departments to submit plans for school choice programs for military and Native American families and to issue guidance on making grants to states for families to choose educational alternatives. The President also convened a roundtable discussion at the White House on Friday, bringing governors and school choice leaders together in support of choice for families nationwide.

Federal tax credit legislation: New bills that would create a federal tax credit for individuals and corporations donating to scholarship-granting organizations were introduced in both the House of Representatives and the Senate last week. If enacted, the Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA) would be a game-changer for education freedom, likely exponentially increasing fundraising to allow organizations like CSF to award scholarships to more deserving families.

In New Hampshire: A group of CSF families got an insider’s tour of the New Hampshire State House in Concord on Thursday, where they got to meet both Governor Kelly Ayotte and Education Commissioner Frank Edelblut, while learning about the history and significance of the State House.

On Saturday, New Hampshire hosted a School Fair, with more than 50 schools and education providers showcasing a slice of the diverse education landscape available for Granite State families. While parents learned about educational options, children enjoyed games, face-painting, raffles, and more.

In addition, CSF New Hampshire was cited by EdChoice once again for the Most Effective Implementation of an education savings account program. EdChoice’s Ed Tarnowski stated, “Rather than going through a state department or agency, the Granite State administers its ESA through an independent, non-governmental organization, Children’s Scholarship Fund (CSF) NH, bypassing unnecessary bureaucracy. Led by Kate Baker Demers, CSF NH prides itself on reviewing each transaction and ensuring quick and close communication with families and vendors.”

In New York: With the National School Choice Awareness Foundation, CSF launched a digital campaign to raise awareness of our scholarships, targeting new families who are searching for quality educational options in New York City.

Thank you to everyone who helped celebrate National School Choice Week 2025. We are grateful for the opportunity to highlight parents as the first educators of their children!

More than 50 education providers and schools of all types shared information with families at Saturday’s New Hampshire School Fair, and the children in attendance enjoyed games, face-painting, raffles, and more!
