CSF President and CEO Darla Romfo discusses the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit on Kevin Gentry’s Going Big! podcast

In the latest episode of Kevin Gentry’s Going Big! podcast, CSF’s President and CEO Darla Romfo discusses the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit (FSTC) and its potential to expand educational opportunity, create new philanthropists, and scale scholarship programs.

In particular, Darla emphasized the central role of parents as a core value guiding CSF in implementing the FSTC and in all its work since its founding by John Walton and Ted Forstmann:

“I firmly believe that parents are the first educators of their children, and the home is the first school. There’s a lot that you learn from your parents, and a school is just an extension based on the parents’ choice of how they want their child to be educated, the values that they want them exposed to. …They are fundamental to this whole exercise, everything we’re talking about and doing. And John and Ted both recognized that.
