CSF Welcomes New Guidance on the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit

Statement from CSF President and CEO Darla Romfo on the release of proposed FSTC regulations from U.S. Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service:

With today’s regulations, we’re one step closer to making the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit a transformative opportunity for education and philanthropy. This historic measure will empower families nationwide to explore the educational settings and resources that best meet their children’s needs.

We welcome the clarification that married couples filing jointly may qualify for up to a $3,400 federal tax credit. That has the potential to significantly increase the scholarship dollars available and, most importantly, the number of children we can serve – including students attending public schools, public charter schools, and private schools.

At Children’s Scholarship Fund, we have spent nearly three decades connecting families with educational opportunity. We are proud to be a trusted partner to families seeking a better education for their children and to donors who want to make those opportunities possible. We are excited to bring our experience and our national reach to this historic effort, helping turn the promise of this new tax credit into life-changing opportunities for families across the country.
