This year’s National School Choice Week was action-packed, with CSF and CSF partners celebrating educational freedom nationwide.
New York Student Showcase: CSF celebrated school choice in the Big Apple with a School Choice Student Showcase, bringing together children, parents, and school administrators for a joyful program of student performances. We had steel pan drumming, ballroom dancing, and singing from Brooklyn’s Great Oaks Elementary School, Our Lady of Lourdes School in Upper Manhattan, and East Harlem’s Saint John Paul the Great Academy respectively. Fox News anchor David Asman, serving as emcee, added professional color and commentary, and Ian Rowe, author and cofounder of Vertex Partnership Academies, advised the children about the importance of agency and the success sequence. The event closed with a rousing recitation of Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech and an African dancing and drumming performance from The Learning Tree Cultural Preparatory School in the Bronx.
New Hampshire Celebration: On Wednesday, CSF New Hampshire hosted its own Concord Educational Showcase, featuring student speakers, dance performances, and art showcases, highlighting the creativity, confidence, and growth that can flourish when students are placed in learning environments that fit their individual needs.
Other Notable Happenings:
- Earlier this week, CSF New Hampshire was cited by EdChoice for the third year in a row for the Most Effective Implementation of an education savings account program. According to EdChoice, “Children’s Scholarship Fund NH, the independent administrator of the program, cuts through much of the bureaucracy many other states face and prides itself on a parent-forward approach.” New Hampshire’s Education Freedom Accounts program was also honored by EdChoice in the Most Inspiring, Most Improved, and Best Universal Options categories.
- In a video released by Invest in Education Foundation, Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York speaks about Children’s Scholarship Fund role under Federal Scholarship Tax Credit starting in 2027, saying “Generous people who have long wanted to strengthen and expand our acclaimed Catholic schools as well as other non-government schools can now contribute even more to very respected organizations such as Children’s Scholarship Fund and our own beloved Inner-City Scholarship Fund and receive a tax credit for their donation.”
- CSF partner ACE Scholarships‘ CEO Norton Rainey published a piece in RealClear Education about the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit. In addition, ACE Scholarships was part of a School Choice Week-themed roundtable at the White House with Education Secretary Linda McMahon.
- The Today and Tomorrow Educational Foundation (TTEF), CSF’s St. Louis partner, brought students to a School Choice Week Capitol Rally in Jefferson City.
Thank you to everyone who helped celebrate National School Choice Week 2026. We are grateful for the opportunity to highlight parents as the first educators of their children, and we look forward to updating you on exciting developments in education freedom throughout the year!
